As I lay awake at night
I think to myself
Why am I here
This life that I live
What is to ensure that it goes on as I expect it to
The freedom and liberty I hold so dear
The fact that I may live upon the very ground of my forefathers
This patriarchal soil rooted in my blood
This could only be the work of the guardians
Heroic soldiers that protect us
Noble paladins that lay down their lives
Over treacherous terrain they fight in the land of dragons
They bout in the air and fly with the fiery phoenix
On the high seas they combat with the mighty leviathan
They stand in opposition against gargantuan giants
Their acts are of legends and fables to us
But to them the battle is all too real
In a struggle against the shadow of death
We are safe amidst their company
We are secure within their battalion
Their regiment a refuge and shelter
Our freedom the very corps of their operation
Their campaign is one of true bravery
Valiant soldiers entrusted to protect us
Guardians that watch over us
How could I ever express my debt of gratitude
A simple thank you would not suffice
No word could ever return the favor
All that you have given me
I cherish the freedoms you have entitled me to
So what can I say
What can I do
What I can do is use what you have given me
I can use my freedom for the betterment of mankind
I can use my liberty to be heard and make a difference
But no matter what I say
No matter what I do
None of it would have been possible without our watchful guardians
