Epiphany

To have a revelation
To feel so free
What a sweet sensation
Now I see

Ain't No River Wide Enough

Life is like a river
It gives you a little shiver
It turns and bends
Rapid and slow
This way and that
A steady flow
Always changing always moving
Harsh and somewhat soothing
It can overflow and dry up
Beneath the surface it floats
Over and through
Bridges and boats
Jump and swim
Go out on a limb
The current of fate
Many fish to see
If swept away
It leads out to sea

Scale

A feather on one end
Your heart on the other
One way it will tip
But which way will it go
If a heart is heavy
The balance will sway
A feather so light
And yet it falls
Be it heavy or light
A caring heart
Will take flight

Arrow

It can turn the tide
It can peirce a soul
It can fly without wings
And kill with great toll
Bow bent
String taunt
Straight and true
To the king it flew
In the beat of a heart
It beat no more
A single stick with a metal tip
A nation it was able to trip

What If

If he were to walk among us
What would he see
If he were to walk among us
What would he hear
If he were to walk among us
What would he say
How would he condone our actions
How would he read our story
What would you say in your defense
Did the ends justify the means
Before him
Would you even be able to stand
Did you look at your life through heavens eyes
If he were to walk among us
What would you do
Your audience may soon arrive
For any second could be your last

Quick Sand

Every step taken
Taken from you every step
Which one will be your last
Which one will mark a many more
Take caution in every courageous step
And with every courageous step bear no caution
A stepping stone gone and yet to be
At a moments what will you see

The Cosmos

In a single drop of dew
The world is turned in reflection
And revelations are found
Food no longer nourishes me
Sleep no longer rejuvenates me
I find that all I need
Is the pure cosmic energy of the universe
And the aura of good people
The only question is
Will I starve ?

Love Hurts

They say
Those that are closest to you
Are those that will hurt you the most
They say
Love hurts
That’s what they say
But what to do they know
What to do they know of love
What do they know of pain
Love does not hurt
Inflicting pain is not affection
If it hurts then its not love
And those that were close to you
Weren’t as close as you thought

The Grail

All hail
Bear no malice
The holy grail
A righteous chalice
If you will
Show your glass
And take your fill
It will surpass
My cup is dry
In fact its full
Of great supply
Push and pull

Selfdestruct

At his height
With all his might
He will fight
What has man become
The urge
To purge
And no longer merge
What has man become
Breathing fire
With desire
To kill his sire
What has man become
Upon a hill
With all his will
He seeks to kill
What has man become
Turn the page
Dust of age
See his rage
What has man become
With a rod
He will trod
To be his god
What has man become
In the past
But so fast
He will not last
What has man become
Break the door
To the shore
He is no more
What has man become
Through a duct
With no reluct
To self destruct
That’s what man is

A Light in the Dark

This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light design
All of life it will entwine
This little light so fine
Illuminate the divine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine

To have a sister
The meaning thereof

At the Grave

There you lie
And there you wait
I say good bye
Is this out fate
If only you were here
I wish you could see
As I shed a tear
The person I came to be

Evolution

Evolution
Revolution
Written in the constitution
Elation
Salvation
No more hesitation
Combination
Dedication
Born to be this creation
Survival
Arrival
No matter the rival
Circumvent
Nourishment
Under no consent
Foundation
Application
More and more replication
Evolution
Revolution
Written in the constitution

Under the Sun

It’s all been said
And it’s all been heard
Nothing more than just a word
Something new
To widely revolutionize
So your surmise
Everything is here
And all of its gone
But for you it’s only dawn

Farewell Friendship

I told you I loved you
I told you I cared
Didn’t you hear me
Is you hearing impaired
You didn’t listen
You didn’t respond
Something went wrong
Your no longer fond
I fear its all over
What could it be
Something was lost
Between you and me

Mortality

I am wealthy
But I am poor
I am strong
And I am sore
I am great
But I am meek
I am humble
For what I seek
I am young
But I am old
A gift to you
The wisdom I hold
I am followed
And I am lead
My worries and doubts
I will shed
I will carry
And I will bear
Upon my back
None to share
What I brought
Is what I will take
Nothing more
For all our sake
I could take no part
Or do it all
An epic struggle
Should I fall
I am hungry
And I will feed
If I’m cut
I will bleed
I am different
Not the same
I live life
Not a game
I am first
And I am last
All before
But in the past
The end is certain
What will it be
Un rehearsed
For all to see

Caveman

Sands of time
Cave of wonders
Relics of the past
Forgotten hunters
Markings and etches
The birth of an era
In the growth of a seed
The dawn of life
Fire and might
Power and gain
A turning wheel
No longer sane
A tool to help
And a tool to hurt
Great plans unfold
Master and slave
To which you behold
War and peace
Tame the beast
Mass extinction
On all he’ll feast
Monuments and towers
Growth and advance
For what purpose
Will they take the chance
A rise and fall
Death and destruction
To end it all
Age old ruins
Secrets untold
But none to tell
Its dying hold
Better or worse
To make you see
In bones on the ground
Your own history
Hidden in the future
Genes of the past
Over and over
Known at last
Sands of time
Cave of wonders
Relics of the past
Forgotten hunters
Records and scrolls
Of a closing age
The dusk of night
Within a cage
Left behind all you see
Tempered through eons
But what will it be

Set Sail

Batton down the hatches
Unfurl the sails
And let the cool breeze nudge you along
Feel the waves rise and fall beneath you
Let the salty mist spray upon the bow
And row steady and calm
Push and pull in the ebbing tide
In a steady rythme ther is no room to rock and sway
Red sky at night
Sailor’s delight
Red sky in the morning
Sailor’s warning
A storm to shake and turn the mighty waters
But a calm sea
Never made and experienced sailor

Rise of the Phoenix

A graceful feathered ruler of the sky
A magnificent creature who's beauty is sheer terror
Onyx talons with a grip greater than that of any vice
A glistening beak sharper than that of any blade
Brilliant wings faster than that of any arrow
And golden eyes that can pierce the heart of any soul
A true raptorial bird of prey
A shining spirit who's awe is revered
Adored for its beauty
And feared for its power
Loved and hated for its position ins nature's noble hierarchy
Its demand for respect was rightfully so
And yet so rightfully respect it demanded not
For this reason they sought to take its rightful place of power
To purge it from their existence and steal its glorious crown of power and beauty
And so in the dead of night they set its peaceful forest ablaze
To reduce it to a smoldering heap
But as the fires burned
They shook in terror as the shrieks of its burning pain rose above the smoke
As the inferno burned low
The flames subsided
Embers grew cool
As man tried to take the thrown
And at that precise moment in an explosive burst the sky was lit
A flaming radiance of heat filled the air
It flew through the night sky with fiery wings
And hunted with scorching talons and a searing beak
The rise of the phoenix in the beauty of fire
A true raptorial bird of prey

Sight

Up in the sky where clouds be born
Seeing shapes take their form
Amongst the trees in many places
Seeing within them friendly faces
Animals that frolic and bout
Seeing a story play out
Fog that sets upon the plain
Seeing ghosts wail in pain
Shadows that dance about at night
Seeing monsters that lurk our of sight
Wolves that howl to a wanning moon
Seeing a creature of utter doom
Watching the sun across the sky
Seeing earth stand still as all goes by
The balance of nature to give and take
Seeing only for one's own sake
A record of human history
Seeing who's version is a mystery
A war that turned to holocaust
Seeing a crusade and all its cost
Right and wrong a truthful tale
Seeing it through a tinted veil
A massacre of bloody surrender
Seeing a peaceful war be render
Seeing everything before you
But
Seeing only what you wish to see
Believing everything you see
Because
Seeing is believing

Retrospect

Keep your head held high
Just keep walking
Don’t look back
Just keep walking
It hurts to walk away
It hurts not to look back for the fear of being hurt
Eyes forward
Just keep walking
There is no going back
There is no return to fond memories
Head up
Shoulders straight
Just keep walking
Don’t go back or it will happen all over again
Does it hurt more to relive the joy and pain
Or to walk away and loose it forever
Chin up
Brush your shoulders off
Just keep walking
Leave it all behind
The city burning to the ground behind you
Buildings that tumble and fall
Dust and ash that fill the air
It chokes everything you had
Leave it all behind
There is nothing left anyway
Just keep walking
As everything falls apart
Other things fall together
So put one foot in front of the other
And just keep walking

Apology

I’m sorry
Truly sorry
I’m sorry for what I have done
Please forgive me

There is nothing you can say
Nothing you can do
What’s done is done

Please forgive me
I never meant to hurt you
I must seek retribution

What’s done is done
Keep moving forward
Nothing I can say will absolve your pain

I must seek retribution
How do I live with myself
What do I do

Nothing I can say will absolve your pain
It will linger within you
It will follow you where ever you go

What do I do
How do I seek absolution
How can I forgive myself

It will follow you where ever you go
You will carry the burden of your deeds
You will never forgive yourself

How can I forgive myself
All that I have done
There must be something I can do

You will never forgive yourself
But there is something you can do
You can make a difference

There must be something I can do
Something to change what’s set in motion
I can do something

You can make a difference
Don’t be sorry
Be different

I can do something
Can I stop this rapid flow
I can change its course

Be different
Prevent a reoccurrence
Change a life yet untouched

I can change its course
I can rebuild broke walls
I can imprison the imprisoners

Change a life yet untouched
Be everything you never were
Fight for something greater
And you soul will yet survive

The Guardians

As I lay awake at night
I think to myself
Why am I here
This life that I live
What is to ensure that it goes on as I expect it to
The freedom and liberty I hold so dear
The fact that I may live upon the very ground of my forefathers
This patriarchal soil rooted in my blood
This could only be the work of the guardians
Heroic soldiers that protect us
Noble paladins that lay down their lives
Over treacherous terrain they fight in the land of dragons
They bout in the air and fly with the fiery phoenix
On the high seas they combat with the mighty leviathan
They stand in opposition against gargantuan giants
Their acts are of legends and fables to us
But to them the battle is all too real
In a struggle against the shadow of death
We are safe amidst their company
We are secure within their battalion
Their regiment a refuge and shelter
Our freedom the very corps of their operation
Their campaign is one of true bravery
Valiant soldiers entrusted to protect us
Guardians that watch over us
How could I ever express my debt of gratitude
A simple thank you would not suffice
No word could ever return the favor
All that you have given me
I cherish the freedoms you have entitled me to
So what can I say
What can I do
What I can do is use what you have given me
I can use my freedom for the betterment of mankind
I can use my liberty to be heard and make a difference
But no matter what I say
No matter what I do
None of it would have been possible without our watchful guardians

The Soul of a Soldier

One more step
One more
Just one more
Failure is not an option
You have to keep going
Don’t give up
Keep going
Keep training
Give it your all
And then some
Keep training
Because the more you sweat now
The less you bleed in battle
Keep pushing
When all seems inevitable
Proceed further
Fight for what you believe
And continue
Continue when its easy
Continue when its hard
Continue even when it kills you to do so
You’ve only lost when you admit defeat
So don’t give in
In the middle of it all give more
Never give up
Never surrender your spirit
Fight for all its worth
Because its worth the fight
Push forward
And maintain your drive
To the brink of pandemonium
To the verge of collapsing
Push yourself to the very edge
Jump
And you will fly

Azrael

Termination
The sentence
Guilty
The verdict
Sorcery
The acquisition
Solitude
The evidence
Uniquity
The reason
A fair maiden
Taken as a harlot
To pay the price
Who is to blame
For others misfortune
And deemed unworthy
Of God’s grace
So they say
A sinister spirit
Harbored within her
They saw on her a speck of dust
When they themselves are covered in dirt and filth
And so her judgment was passed
Her life taken
Her crime
Her innocence
Her innocence
Their crime
Their lives taken
Their judgment was passed
Her name
Azrael

Crusade

Gory, glory
Hallelujah
Oh splendid victory
The triumph of gallant knights
Adorned by a holy nimbus
The battle was won
Praise be to his name
With that of a lion heart
Saracens have been vanquished
Impious heathens have been cast out of the holy lands
Sacred grounds awash with crimson blood
A war waged in the name of God

In God’s name
What have we done
No aspect of war is holy
War is only the justification of mass murder
No matter how great the cause
It is a crime none the less
And a burden we must carry
A burden so great
So heinous
We give it God’s seal of approval
And proceed
To find
The means to an end
Of men
Amen

Babble

Speak now
Or forever hold your peace
Say your piece
Of that which you speak
Words that flow from your lips
Splash upon many ears
Speak your mind
But mind your speech
That which can be the sharpest blade
Or the most soothing balm
Our most useful asset
The tongue
Of many tongues
The tongue of tongues
Speaking in tongues
Be they forked or tied
Their grip our vice
Sticks and stones
May break your bones
But words
Will cling to your heart
They express that which we feel
But to express such feelings words are obsolete
The stronger the word
The more uncertain the feeling
The stronger the feeling
The more uncertain of which words to chose
In an effort to achieve ultimate expression
The vastness of feelings have been confined to mere words
Their magnitude cannot be put in any box
Bound to any mouth
Captive to any tongue
True feelings are speechless

Smoke and Mirrors

Lights that dance within the haze
Lost amongst the maize
Be ye not a faux
Stain glass windows
They will know
Looking through the pane
What will you see
Shadows of a wraith
Can you find the quay
Trapt within an eerie fog
Those submerged beneath the bog
It will illude and captivate
Bring you to an aweful raze
And set your feeble mind ablaze
A phantom in the knight
He moves with ease so sleight
Feeding lies unto your heir
To alter and despair
Praying upon those in need of care
In the great haul of spirits all be scene
That which you halve is not serene
A puff of smoke
A burst of light
And water ferments before your eyes
Stay awake
Don’t fall asleep
Or all be swept by this dis ease
Rules don’t apply to this game
See now all its shame
Escape the murk and the marsh
Go beyond the clouded missed
What is real may seam to be
Only covered by ruble and debris
But there is a way to be free
There is a re of hope
If you broaden your rational ocular scope
Look beyond the blurry tier
Find the occlusion of your allusion
And your apparition will disappear

Race

Let's run
Let's race
I'll give you your chase
If you wanna go
Just let me know
Tell me how far
Is it across the sea
There be no czar
Only you and me
Sprint and jog
Then you'll see
This ain't about me
Let's run
Let's race
Keep up with the pace
One stride ahead
One fall below
Of this you should know
Trip up
Leap back
You gotta stay on track
Who's ahead
You run so fast
All be said
It's not the caste
Though you think of yourself unsurpassed
Look behind
Then you'll know
All of which here we go
Let's run
Let's race
Gotta know your place
Along side one another
Treat me as a brother
Stumble and fall
And you I'll elevate
Just give me a call
Don't incriminate
More or less not what you see
But deep inside of you and me
So
Let's run
Let's race
The race
This race
One race
Our race

besiege

King and queen side by side
Within a region they reside
Face the enemy toe to toe
Rules of engagement all they know
A game of wit upon the ground
A mastermind to be found
Set in motion a trap of skill
Bend the enemy to thy will
All of which is known until
One false step
One wrong move
To this you should behoove
Command thy units just and true
The opposition they will subdue
Front lines bear thy brawn
To what ends be they just a pawn
If besieged by foreign powers
Rook thy knights in corner towers
When men tire and fall below
Lift thy spirits, this will show
Bishop rally and have them go
Onward to victory
Take the king
To all be known let it ring
